Tenor Saxophonist, Michael Buckley, is one of the most exciting musicians to arrive on the Irish jazz scene in recent times. Playing professionally since the age of six, he has performed with a large array of the best known artists including George Coleman, Louis Stewart, Lee Konitz and Grant Stewart.
He has also toured extensively with Mary Coughlan in Europe and the US. June 1997 saw the launch of Buckley's acclaimed debut CD, The Pendulum hailed as the best Irish recording this year (The Evening Herald). Michael is presently working with Spanish pianist Albert Sanz, aided by Bass player Jeremy Brown and drummer Stephen Keogh. This quartet will play Ronnie Scott's in June 1999 and there are plans for a recording in autumn.
